Psychefunkabluesadelic rock and roll is the best
way to describe the sound of Joe Stuby & Rocking Horse. A unique blend
of Hendrix like psychedelia, Parliament Funkadelic syle groove, blues with
the power of Stevie Ray Vaughn, and rock n roll through and through.
1997's "Searching the Constellations for Love" was the band's debut recording. It featured Band of Gypsy's drummer Buddy Miles as a guest drummer. Two years later in 1999 they met P. Funk wizard Bernie Worrell and formed a relationship which produced 2002's "Cosmic Soul". This album has received steady national airplay on over 125 college radio stations. Look for info about these CD's and the band in the press section.
And remember, outerspace
is equal to innerspace,
ya dig?
Joe Stuby :: guitar :: vocals
Joe attended Boston's Berklee College of Music
for 2 years and moved on to graduate at NYC's New School. The founder of Rocking
Horse is well versed in all things funky and loves to play the blues. Introduced
at shows as the "fearless leader" and "guru"... why, we
don't know.
Andy Janowiak :: drums :: bg vocals
Andy is a graduate of Berklee College of Music.
He is dubbed by fans as the "butt nasty" drummer... which has nothing
to do with hygiene. Andy loves Zappa and Kansas. He co-wrote most of "Cosmic
Soul" with Joe and Bernie Worrell... not
bad for a guy who makes his living hitting things with sticks.
Eric Jones :: bass
Eric's college and high school records are
"unknown". Known as "the Jackhammer", which has nothing
to do with his bass playing, Eric loves Zappa, James Brown, and nything where
the bass gets to show off.
Karl Dietel :: keyboards
Karl aKa "Magic Fingers" graduated from
Boston University. He loves Elton John and Billy Joel but has been force fed
funk since saddling up with the Horse. Check out his solo group at karljam.com.
Greg Fitz :: Keyboard
Greg, aka "Daffy Duck", a true Funkadelic
from Plainfield NJ, Greg brings his brilliant musicianship and sharp wit to
JS+RH, when he is not touring with Bernie Worrell's WOO Warriors.Greg has
also been a touring member of Bootsy Collins' Rubber Band as well as the Mothership
itself, Parliament!! Execpt for that one nite in Amsterdam when he was hangin'
with Prince...and as he said "I Forgot!!"
